Also known as the ‘Cabbage White’, this large butterfly is a common sight in gardens and allotments throughout Britain . The female has distinctive, spotted wings and is slightly larger than her male partner. Spring broods fly between April and June with a second brood from July to October. Like its smaller cousin, the Small White, caterpillars feed on brassicas, crucifers and nasturtiums.
